The creative director at Ashiru Couture “Esther Ashiru” is a young designer who derives her inspirations from her experiences living in different cultures around the world. Born in Nigeria, West Africa; grew up in Dublin, Ireland; and now live between Toronto and Vancouver, Canada.

She is a graduate from the Fashion Design program at the Art Institute of Vancouver. After being selected to represent the institution at one of the most celebrated fashion weeks in the world: New York Fashion Week, she gained much needed exposure and launched the high fashion bridal and evening wear brand Ashiru Couture in 2017.

Dealing with the typical hurdles of a new business, Esther has been able to produce stunning collections with very limited resource available to her. Transforming her small bedroom into a production studio by day has been really difficult but her passion and ambition will not prevent her from following her dreams.

The brand focuses on creating luxurious red carpet, evening and bridal wear using stunning, high-quality fabrics such as sequin lace, beads, lace and silk organza to express emotions. Ashiru Couture has been featured in fundraisers held by the Royal Thai Consul-General of Vancouver, Little Black Dress Gala, and New York Fashion week. In Toronto, the brand has been featured in major events such Toronto fashion industry’s “When Fashion Meets” and the fastest growing diverse fashion week in Canada, African Fashion Week Toronto.
